Our Terms and Conditions

When you make a booking with the Glenisle Hotel, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with Arran Hotels Limited, (Company Number SC331257) whose registered office is situated at the Glenisle Hotel, Lamlash, Isle of Arran, KA27 8LY (referred to in these terms and conditions as "Arran Hotels").

Tariffs

Unless otherwise stated, prices are listed per room per night and include breakfast. Extra charges will be made for more than two people in a double or twin room. Some tariffs also include dinner in which case drinks are not included and a supplement may be payable for certain items. Breakfast is available from 8:15am to 9:45am and dinner from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. No refund shall be payable for a missed meal.

An early or room service breakfast can be requested on 24 hours notice. Room service is only available during our normal breakfasting hours and will be subject to an additional cost.

Making a Booking

You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a valid credit or debit card. No payment is taken from your credit or debit card at the time of booking. Payment is taken on departure or in the event of cancellation other than in accordance with our cancellation terms. See under 'Cancellations and Amendments' below for details on cancellations.

If you book via our website a deposit of one night's tariff will be charged at the time of booking. You will be notified of the total amount of the deposit before you are required to enter your credit card details.

Special Packages

Special Packages, such as the New Year Package, will have one price for the entire stay instead of a price per night. A non-refundable deposit will be required at time of booking and the full charge must be paid at least one month before the arrival date. If the balance remains unpaid more than 4 days past the due date the room will no longer be held and will be made available for other guests to book. No refund will made in the event of cancellation. Because of this and because stormy weather can disrupt ferry sailings, it is strongly advised that you have travel insurance should you need to cancel your stay at the Glenisle Hotel for any reason or are unable to get to Arran due to cancellation of the ferry services.

Supplementary Charges

The total tariff for your stay will be set out in your reservation confirmation. For the avoidance of doubt, the tariff does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, your use of the hotel's restaurant, bar and the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Arran Hotels that you irrevocably authorise Arran Hotels to debit your credit or debit card for the amount of any shortfall.

Check In/Check Out

Hotel rooms are normally available from 2:00pm on the day of arrival. On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for the hotel to take the card's details. Rooms must be vacated by 10:30am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager. If the room is not vacated by the checkout time, we reserve the right to charge you for an extra night's accommodation per person. Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill. Arran Hotels accept all major credit and debit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, Delta, and Connect.

Cancellation and Amendments

All cancellations or amendments must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms. Where a cancellation or amendment is not made in accordance with our applicable cancellation terms, we reserve the right to charge you the total tariff for your booking.

Our cancellation terms are as follows:-

Where cancellation or amendment is notified to us:

  • less than 7 days prior to arrival or after you have checked in - the total tariff for your booking will be charged in full. However we may, at our discretion, refund this amount to the extent that the room reserved for you can be let to a third party for the period of your booking; or
  • between 7 and 31 days prior to arrival - 1 night's tariff per person will be charged if we are unable to let the room for the period of your booking; or
  • more than 31 days prior to arrival - no charge will be made.

In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so.

Damage to Hotel Property

We reserve the right to charge guests for the cost of rectifying any damage caused by the deliberate, reckless or negligent act of the guest to any Arran Hotel's property.

Guests will be charged £10.00 for the loss of any hotel keys.

Vehicles

All vehicles parked in the hotel car park are parked at the owner's risk.

Liability

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may have in relation to your stay with us, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests which you may make and our failure in this regard will not constitute a breach of contract.

Arran Hotels shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit the Arran Hotel's liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability in any manner which would be unlawful.

Policies

Every effort has been made to help you enjoy your stay. We would welcome any feedback on your experience and are happy to assist with any queries.

The Glenisle Hotel has a no smoking policy and guests found to be smoking may be asked to leave and/or charged for the cost of dry cleaning any affected soft furnishings and for any loss of income suffered because of any necessary airing of their room.

Only hotel guests are allowed in rooms after 9:00pm.

Because unforeseen events can arise, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance which will cover any costs should you need to postpone or cancel your booking. We will not be responsible for any costs or losses incurred by you if you are unable to travel or complete your journey.

There are no pets allowed in the building.

Data Protection

Arran Hotels Ltd. is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and complies with the Act in all our dealings with your personal data. Information you provide to us will only be used by Arran Hotels and its subsidiaries. We may process personal information about you if you ask us to add your name to our mailing list so that we can keep you informed of seasonal promotions.

Your contract with us shall be subject to the laws of Scotland.
